Parents have a statutory right of appeal if they are not satisfied with the place offered. Appeals must be lodged by a date in March or April. Appeal hearings are normally held in May and June.
Waiting List
If a vacancy arises during the first term of Year 7, the waiting list in existence from 1st March of that year will be used. For mid-year admissions from January after the pupil starts Year 7, candidates on the waiting list will be invited to take a test and the place will be awarded to the highest scoring candidate above a minimum standard.

Community Service
Students encouraged to contribute to wider community. Thousands of pounds collected each year for different causes. Senior Citizens' Party organised by Year 10. Sixth Formers help in infant school classes, special schools, charity shops or retirement homes.
Uniform
Students in Years 7 to 11 wear a uniform of navy blue and light blue. Well-stocked pre-loved uniform shop available. Sixth Form dress code consists of a grey suit. Uniform grant up to £150 per year (£300 in Year 7) available for pupil premium eligible students.
School Meals
Healthy food fuels healthy students. Range of snacks, sandwiches and wraps available from the Studio. Main Dining Room offers hot and cold snacks at recess and hot meals at lunchtime. School endeavours to have a nut-free kitchen. Catering provided by Alliance in Partnership.
Homework Policy
Homework is set regularly across all subjects with expectations increasing by year group. Students are expected to complete approximately 1-2 hours per night in Years 7-9, increasing to 2-3 hours in Years 10-11.
Behaviour Policy
Behaviour which enhances the life of the school community is encouraged and praised. Students are expected to show consideration and respect for others at all times. The Code of Conduct ensures the safety of students and the smooth running of the school.
Mobile Phone Policy
Mobile phones must be switched off during school hours and kept in bags. Emergency contact should be made through the school office.
