A shared 11+ entrance exam used by 6 grammar schools, administered by CEM (Durham University), testing Verbal Skills, English comprehension, spelling, grammar, Non Verbal Reasoning, mathematics. The exam consists of 2 papers. One of a small select group of state boarding and day schools. Offers boarding for boys and girls aged 11-18 years. 14 places reserved for boarders in Year 7. All admissions at Year 7-11 managed by North Yorkshire County Council's school admissions team. Boarders must attain the same standard of entry as day students.
