A shared 11+ entrance exam used by 6 grammar schools, administered by CEM (Durham University), testing English, Mathematics, Creative Writing. The exam consists of 3 papers totalling 60 minutes. School uses FSCE Entrance Test which focuses on KS2 National Curriculum content taught up to end of Year 5. Test designed to remove need for tutoring and assess innate ability, curiosity and problem-solving skills. School offers free tutoring scholarship programme for Pupil Premium students in partnership with 11PlusSchool and Study Write 11+. Also provides free access to Atom Learning platform for Pupil Premium eligible students. School is part of Halifax Grammar Schools consortium. Oversubscription criteria: 1) Children looked after, previously looked after or with special guardianship 2) Children attracting Pupil Premium and Service Premium, then remaining places offered according to order of merit until PAN reached. For tie-breaking when children achieve same score: 1) Siblings 2) Proximity to school.
