High retention is a positive sign — pupils choose to stay and the sixth form supports them through. Low retention can indicate weaker post-16 provision or curriculum mismatch.

School Meals
The Cashless Catering System automatically allocates a Free School Meal allowance (currently £3.25 per day) to each student's account. Students with free meal entitlements always remain anonymous as all account types are accessed in the exact same manner regardless as to whether paid for or not.
Homework Policy
We see homework as being an integral part of learning and progress. All homework tasks are set on Satchel One (formerly known as Show My Homework). Year 7 should expect 30 mins per subject, Year 8 up to 40 mins per subject and Year 9 up to one hour. For Years 12-13, students are expected to undertake one hour of independent study for each hour of taught lessons; a total of 9 hours every two weeks of independent study.
Behaviour Policy
High expectations for conduct and achievement. Emphasis on respect, responsibility, and resilience. Clear consequences for inappropriate behaviour including detention, isolation, and exclusion where necessary. Positive reinforcement through house points and recognition systems.
Mobile Phone Policy
Mobile phones are not allowed in school except for emergencies.
SEND Provision
Students are admitted on passing the selection tests regardless of SEN or disabilities. Where the school is named in a child's statement of special educational needs and the child passes the selection tests, the school and the Local Authority have a duty to admit the child.
